As a consultant I draw on my extensive experience as an artist and non-profit leader. I've been the founder and executive leader of a successful small theater company, on the senior staff at a larger theater, a development director at an arts service organization, a foundation program officer, and a consultant to many non-profits. With a deep understanding of the way artists work, a varied background in non-profit management, and a broad perspective on the sector, my services are aimed at helping artists and organizations take their work to the next level, refine strategies to best fulfill potential, play a leadership role in the vital creative sector, and engage in transformative partnerships and collaborations with the wider community.
I offer a wide range of services to arts organizations, foundations, and independent artists including strategic planning, project development, board development, research and writing, and career coaching. Significant projects have included serving as interim program officer for arts & culture at the San Francisco Foundation, strategic planning for the San Francisco Arts Commission, coordinating the Bay Area activities of the Wallace Foundation Cultural Participation Initiative, and collaborating with researchers at WolfBrown on a multi-city study on the intrinsic impact of theater experiences. Recent clients include the Jewish Film Institute, ArtSPAN, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival.
